How Do I Pay My Hourly Contract on UpWork?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:10 pm

As a freelancer, one of the most important questions you will ask is, “How do I get paid?” The answer to this question depends on the type of contract you have with your client.

If you are working hourly, then you will need to submit your hours worked and then request payment from your client. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do this:

1. Track your hours.

Make sure to track the number of hours you work each day or week. This can be done using a time tracking app or simply by keeping a log of the start and end times of each task you complete. Doing this will ensure that you are paid for all the hours you have worked.

2. Request payment. Once you have tracked your hours, you will need to request payment from your client.

You can do this through the UpWork platform or directly with your client. If you are using UpWork, simply go to the “My Jobs” tab and click on the “Request Payment” button for the relevant contract. You will then be able to enter the number of hours you worked and submit your request.

3. Receive payment.

Once your client approves your request, the funds will be released to you and you will receive payment through the method you have selected (e.g., PayPal, direct deposit, etc. ).
