How do I point a Namecheap domain to DigitalOcean droplet?

In this article, we will show you how to point a Namecheap domain to a DigitalOcean droplet. The process is quite simple and can be completed in just a few minutes.

After completing the steps, you will have a running DigitalOcean droplet that is pointing to your Namecheap domain.

First, open a terminal window and ssh into your Namecheap account. From there, use the following commands to create a droplet and add your domain name to the droplet’s address list:

Namecheap_USERNAME droplet_name

droplet_name DigitalOcean

Next, use the following droplet command to associate the domain name with the droplet:

droplet add domain name

Where domain name is the name of your Namecheap domain. In this example, we will use sample.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, pointing your Namecheap domain to your DigitalOcean droplet can cause DNS problems. Be sure to check your DNS settings before proceeding.

Namecheap.com.

Finally, use the following droplet command to launch the droplet:

droplet launch

The process should now be complete. You can now access your droplet using the following address:

droplet_name.Namecheap.com

If everything went smoothly, you should now have a running DigitalOcean droplet that is pointing to your Namecheap domain. If you ever need to update the droplet’s configuration or domain name, you can do so by using the following droplet commands:

droplet update

droplet domain name.
