If you already have a domain name, you can easily point it to HostGator by following these steps:

1. Log into your domain name registrar.

2. Find the “Transfer” section of your registrar’s website.

3. Click on the “Transfer” button next to your domain name.

4. On the “Transfer” page, select “HostGator” from the list of hosting providers.

5. Click on the “Next” button.

6. On the “Hosting Provider Information” page, enter the following information:

  • The name of your new domain name (for example, mynewdomain.HostGator.com)
PRO TIP: If you are pointing an existing domain to HostGator, be sure to use a valid DNS server and update your Nameservers at your registrar. Failure to do so may result in DNS propagation delays or your website not loading.
  • The email address you used to create your HostGator account
  • The physical address where your HostGator account is located

7. On the “Confirmation” page, review your information and click on the “Submit” button.

8. Your domain name will now be transferred to HostGator.

If you have a domain name that is not registered with a registrar, you can purchase a HostGator domain name using our easy domain name purchase process. Once your domain name is purchased, you can follow the same steps outlined above to point your domain to HostGator.
