Pen Tool is one of the most essential tools in Photoshop. It is used to create precise selections and paths. Here are some tips on how to use the Pen Tool:

1. Create a New Layer

When you are using the Pen Tool, it is always best to create a new layer. This way, if you make a mistake, you can simply delete the layer without affecting the rest of your image.

2. Select the Pen Tool

To select the Pen Tool, go to the Tools palette and click on the icon that looks like a pen. You can also press P on your keyboard to select the tool.

3. Choose a Point

Once you have selected the Pen Tool, click on the point where you want to start your path. For example, if you are tracing an object, you would click on one corner of the object.

4. Add Anchor Points

As you move your cursor around, you will see that anchor points are automatically added.

These anchor points define the shape of your path. You can add more anchor points by clicking on the location where you want to create one.

5. Adjust the Curvature

If you want to change the curvature of your path, simply click and drag on one of the anchor points. You will see a curve appear.

6. Finish Your Path

To finish your path, simply click on the last point that you want to add.

The best way to practice using the pen tool is by doing it! Get some practice tracing images or objects. The more you use it, the more comfortable you will become with it.

PRO TIP: The following note is a warning for those considering practicing the Pen Tool in Photoshop. While the Pen Tool can be a powerful asset in Photoshop, it can also be difficult to master. Those who are not confident in their Photoshop skills may want to consider another tool, or take some time to practice with the Pen Tool before using it on important projects.
