How Do I Put My Website Under Construction on Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:47 am

PRO TIP: If you are considering putting your website on Wix, you should be aware that there is no guarantee that your website will be available during the construction process. Additionally, your website may be subject to downtime or even completely inaccessible if Wix experiences any technical difficulties.

If you’ve built a website on Wix, you may want to put it under construction at some point. Maybe you’re not quite ready to launch, or you’re making changes and don’t want people to see the work in progress. Whatever the reason, it’s easy to put your Wix site under construction.

First, log in to your Wix account and go to the Editor. On the left side of the Editor, click on the Pages tab.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Then, find the page you want to put under construction and click on the three dots next to it. From the drop-down menu, select “Mark as Under Construction.”

A pop-up will appear asking if you’re sure you want to mark the page as under construction. Click “Mark as Under Construction” again to confirm.

Once you’ve marked the page as under construction, anyone who tries to visit that page will see a holding page that says the site is coming soon. The holding page also has a contact form so visitors can get in touch with you.

If you want to take your site completely offline, you can also select “Disable Page” from the drop-down menu. This will prevent anyone from accessing any of your site’s pages.

Putting your Wix site under construction is a quick and easy way to make changes without everyone seeing your work in progress. Once you’re ready to launch, just go back into the Editor and unmark the page as under construction.
