When it comes to product photography, post-processing is key to ensuring your images look their best. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to render a product in Photoshop so that it looks like it’s floating in mid-air.

This technique is perfect for e-commerce or advertising images where you need the product to stand out from the background.

First, open your image in Photoshop and create a new layer. Then, using the pen tool, draw a path around the product.

Next, select the “Stroke Path” option from the toolbar and choose a width for your stroke. We recommend a width of 2-3 pixels. Finally, hit “Enter” to stroke the path.

PRO TIP: When rendering a product in Photoshop, be aware that the quality of the final image will be determined by the quality of the original image. If the original image is of poor quality, the rendered product will also be of poor quality.

Now that you have a path around the product, it’s time to mask it off from the background. To do this, simply click on the “Add Layer Mask” icon in the toolbar.

Then, use a soft black brush to paint over the background. This will hide the background and make it look like the product is floating in mid-air.

If you want to take things one step further, you can add some shadows to make the product look more realistic. To do this, create a new layer beneath the product layer.

Then, use a soft black brush to paint along the edges of the product. This will create a realistic shadow effect.

And that’s it! You’ve now learned how to render a product in Photoshop so that it looks like it’s floating in mid-air. This technique is perfect for e-commerce or advertising images where you need the product to stand out from the background.
