If you’re a Photoshop Elements user, you may be wondering how to reset the program back to its factory defaults. There are a few different ways to do this, and we’ll walk you through each one.

First, you can simply uninstall Photoshop Elements from your computer and then reinstall it. This will return the program to its original state.

Alternatively, you can delete the preferences file for Photoshop Elements. This file is called “Adobe Photoshop Elements Prefs.psp” and is located in the following directory:

Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements

Mac: /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop Elements

Be sure to replace [username] with your actual username. Once you’ve located the file, simply delete it and then relaunch Photoshop Elements. The program will automatically create a new preferences file, which will be set to the default values.

Finally, you can reset Photoshop Elements by holding down the Shift key while launching the program. This will bring up a dialog box asking if you want to delete the current preferences file. Simply click Yes, and Photoshop Elements will be reset back to its factory defaults.

So there you have it – three different ways to reset Photoshop Elements back to its original state. Choose the method that works best for you and enjoy!

PRO TIP: If you are considering resetting Photoshop Elements, be aware that this will permanently delete all of your custom settings, preferences, and workspace layouts. Additionally, any plugins or presets that you have installed will also be deleted. Proceed with caution and only reset Photoshop Elements if you are sure that you want to permanently lose all of your current settings.
