How Do I Run a Shopify Command Line?

The Shopify Command Line Interface (CLI) is a tool that you can use to manage your Shopify themes and shop. It is available as a Ruby Gem, and it is installed on your computer when you install the Shopify Themegem.

The Shopify CLI allows you to:

  • Create a new shop
  • Add a theme to your shop
  • Download your shop’s theme files
  • Upload your theme files to your shop
  • Open your shop in your browser

How Do I Run a Shopify Command Line?

You can run Shopify commands from any directory on your computer. To do this, you need to open a terminal window and navigate to the directory where the Shopify command line interface (CLI) is installed. On a Mac, this is usually in the Applications folder.

On Windows, this is usually in the C:\\Program Files\\Shopify folder. Once you’ve navigated to the correct directory, you can type “shopify” followed by the command you want to run. For example, to create a new shop, you would type “Shopify create-shop”.
