How Do I Sell on Wix?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:57 pm

If you’re thinking about setting up an online store, you may be wondering how to sell on Wix. Wix is a popular website builder that allows businesses to create a professional-looking website without any coding knowledge.

While Wix does have some eCommerce features, it’s not as comprehensive as other platforms like Shopify or BigCommerce. However, it’s still possible to sell products on your Wix website – you just need to use a few workaround.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

The first thing you’ll need to do is set up a payment method. Wix doesn’t have its own built-in payment gateway, so you’ll need to use a third-party provider like PayPal or Stripe.

You can do this by going to the Wix App Market and finding a suitable app. Once you’ve installed the app, you’ll need to connect it to your payment processor account and configure the settings.

PRO TIP: When creating a Wix account, be aware that there are two different types of accounts- a free account and a premium account. A free account will allow you to create a website and sell up to 5 products. A premium account is required if you want to sell more than 5 products on your website.

Be sure to carefully read the terms and conditions of both types of accounts before creating an account or listing any products for sale. Additionally, be aware that Wix takes a commission on each sale made through their platform.

Next, you’ll need to add your products to your website. You can do this by creating a new page and using the Wix Editor to add images, descriptions, and prices.

Alternatively, you can use the Wix Stores app to create a more comprehensive online store. This app allows you to add products, categorize them, and even offer discounts.

Finally, you’ll need to set up shipping and taxes. Shipping can be configured in the Wix Stores app, and taxes can be added through the Wix Editor. Once everything is configured, your online store will be ready to start taking orders!

Selling on Wix is fairly simple, though it does require a bit of workarounds since the platform isn’t built specifically for eCommerce. First, you’ll need to set up a payment method using a third-party provider like PayPal or Stripe since Wix doesn’t have its own built-in payment gateway. Next, add your products by creating a new page and using the Wix Editor or by using the Wix Stores app.

Finally, set up shipping and taxes. Once everything is configured, your online store will be ready to start taking orders!
