SMS (Short Message Service) is a text messaging service that allows users to send short text messages to one or more cell phones. SMS is most commonly used to send emergency messages, such as weather alerts or Amber Alerts, but can also be used for a variety of other purposes.

To send an SMS in WooCommerce, first create a new message. Enter the recipient’s phone number, the message, and any other necessary information.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use WooCommerce to send SMS messages, be aware that there are some potential risks involved.

Some of the more common risks include:

1. Spoofing attacks: It is possible for someone to spoof your phone number and send messages that appear to come from you. This can be used to trick people into giving away personal information or sending money.

2. Phishing attacks: Similar to spoofing, phishing attacks involve sending messages that appear to come from a trusted source in order to trick people into giving away personal information or clicking on malicious links.

3. malware: Malicious software can be embedded in SMS messages and if clicked on, can infect your device with viruses or spyware.

4. Unsolicited messages: You may receive unwanted messages from companies or individuals if your phone number is made public. These messages can be intrusive and/or offensive.

5. High costs: Sending SMS messages can be expensive, especially if you are sending them internationally. Make sure you know the cost of sending before you start sending messages.

Click send. WooCommerce will automatically send the message to the recipient’s cell phone. .

If you wish to disable automatic SMS sending, you can do so by clicking the settings cog in the WooCommerce message settings. From there, you can disable automatic SMS sending for all messages, specific messages, or all messages except for emergency messages.

If you experience any problems sending or receiving SMS messages in WooCommerce, be sure to consult the WooCommerce support forums or contact WooCommerce customer service.
