As a new user to Canva, you may be wondering how to shape an image. The first step is to select the image you want to use.

You can either upload your own image or choose one from our library of over 1 million stock images, illustrations, and icons. Once you have selected your image, click on it to open the image editor.

Next, click on the “Crop” button in the toolbar at the top of the screen. This will open the cropping tool.

You can now drag the cropping tool around the image to select the area you want to keep. When you are happy with your selection, click on the “Apply” button.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you can easily distort or resize an image in Canva, which may not be what you intended. Be sure to check the preview of your image before saving or exporting it.

If you want to add a border to your image, click on the “Frame” button in the toolbar. This will open the framing tool.

You can now choose a frame style and color, and adjust the thickness of the frame.

You can also add text to your image by clicking on the “Text” button in the toolbar. This will open the text editor.

You can now type your text, choose a font style and color, and adjust the alignment and spacing of your text. When you are happy with your text, click on the “Apply” button.

Finally, if you want to save your image, click on the “Download” button in the toolbar. This will open a dialog box where you can choose the file format and quality of your image. Once you have made your selections, click on the “Download” button.
