How Do I Sort Variations in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:30 pm

WooCommerce is a powerful eCommerce plugin that helps you turn your WordPress site into an online store. One of the great things about using WooCommerce is that it’s possible to create variations of products.

For example, if you sell t-shirts, you might have different sizes and colors of the same shirt.

Creating variations can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not too difficult. In this article, we’ll show you how to create product variations in WooCommerce.

  1. Create a variable product

The first thing you need to do is create a variable product. This is a product that has multiple variations, such as different sizes or colors.

To create a variable product, go to Products → Add New in your WordPress admin.

On the Add New Product page, select the Variable product type from the dropdown menu. Enter a name and description for your product, and then click the Publish button.

  1. Add product variations

Now that you’ve created your variable product, it’s time to add some variations. To do this, go to the Product Data section, and select the Variations tab.

Then click on the Add Variation button.

You’ll see a new section appear for each variation you add. Here you can enter all the relevant information for that variation, such as price, weight, stock status etc.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell products that come in different variations (e.g. sizes, colors, etc.), it is important to make sure that the variations are sorted correctly. Otherwise, your customers may end up ordering the wrong product.

To sort your variations, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Variations. From there, you can drag and drop the variations into the order that you want them to be displayed in.

Once you’ve added all the variations you want for your product, click on the Publish button to save your changes.
