How Do I Test a Transaction in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 12:09 am

Any business that has an online presence needs to have a shopping cart feature to sell their products or services. WooCommerce is one of the most popular shopping cart applications available for WordPress websites.

It is a plugin that can be installed on any WordPress site. WooCommerce is a free and open source eCommerce plugin for WordPress. It is used by over three million WordPress websites.

WooCommerce is a very versatile plugin with a lot of features. One of its features is the ability to test transactions. This is a very important feature because it allows businesses to make sure that their shopping cart and payment system are working properly before they start taking real orders.

There are two ways to test transactions in WooCommerce. The first way is to use the sandbox mode that is built into the plugin. Sandbox mode allows you to test transactions without actually using real money.

The second way is to use the Stripe test mode. Stripe is a payment processor that WooCommerce uses for payments. Test mode allows you to process payments with Stripe without actually using real credit card numbers.

To use sandbox mode, you first need to enable it in the WooCommerce settings. To do this, go to the WooCommerce settings page and click on the “Checkout” tab.

PRO TIP: If you are testing a transaction in WooCommerce, be sure to disable all security features first. This includes any firewall or security software you have running on your server. Once you have disabled all security features, you can proceed with testing your transaction.

Then click on the “Sandbox” tab and check the box next to “Enable Sandbox Mode”. Once you have enabled sandbox mode, you will need to add some dummy products to your WooCommerce store. You can do this by going to the “Products” page and clicking on the “Add product” button.

Once you have added some products, you can start testing transactions. To do this, go to the checkout page and fill out all of the required information.

When you get to the payment step, select “Sandbox” as the payment method. Then enter any dummy credit card information into the form fields and click on the “Place order” button.

If everything goes well, you should see a message that says “Your order has been received” and your order should appear in the “Orders” page in your WooCommerce dashboard. If you don’t see this message or your order does not appear in the orders page, then something went wrong and you will need to troubleshoot your problem before taking real orders.

To use Stripe test mode, you first need to sign up for a Stripe account if you don’t already have one. You can sign up for a Stripe account here: https://dashboard.stripe.com/register . Once you have signed up for a Stripe account, you will need to get your Stripe API keys from your Stripe dashboard.

To get your Stripe API keys, log into your Stripe dashboard and click on the “Developers” link in the left sidebar menu. Then click on “API keys” in the sub-menu that appears. You should see two API keys: a publishable key and a secret key
