If you’re new to Shopify, or are considering using it for your ecommerce business, you might be wondering how to test mode in Shopify. Testing mode allows you to make changes to your shop without affecting live customers. It’s a great way to experiment with new features, or to make changes to your shop without affecting your live sales.

To enter testing mode, log into your Shopify admin and click on Settings. Under General, you’ll see an option for Test mode.

Click the radio button next to Enabled and then click Save. You’ll see a message at the top of the page confirming that test mode is enabled.

Once test mode is enabled, you can start making changes to your shop. Remember, none of these changes will affect live customers or sales. To exit test mode, simply log back into your Shopify admin and click on Settings.

Under General, you’ll see the option for Test mode. Click the radio button next to Disabled, and then click Save. You’ll see a message at the top of the page confirming that test mode is disabled.

Test mode is a great way to experiment with new features or changes to your shop, without affecting your live sales. It’s easy to enable and disable, so you can switch back and forth between test mode and live mode as needed.

PRO TIP: If you are not a Shopify expert, do not attempt to test mode in Shopify. You could inadvertently break something on your live site, or worse, cause data loss.

Conclusion:

Test mode in Shopify is easy to enable and disable, and is a great way to experiment with new features or changes to your shop without affecting live sales. When you’re finished making changes in test mode, simply switch back to live mode and those changes will go live.
