Last updated on January 7, 2023 @ 8:38 am

If you’re interested in moving your domain from Shopify to Wix, there are a few things you’ll need to do. First, you’ll need to unlock your domain from Shopify.

To do this, log into your Shopify account and go to Settings > Domains. From there, find the domain you want to move and click on the Unlock button next to it.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Once your domain is unlocked, you’ll need to get the authorization code from Shopify. This code is necessary for transferring your domain to Wix.

To get the code, again log into your Shopify account and go to Settings > Domains. Find the domain you want to move and click on the Get Authorization Code button next to it.

With both the unlocked domain and authorization code in hand, you’re ready to start the transfer process with Wix. Log into your Wix account (or create one if you don’t have one already) and go to Add Domain > Transfer Domain. Enter your domain name and authorization code when prompted and follow the remaining instructions on screen.

Assuming everything goes smoothly, your domain should be transferred over to Wix within a few days. Once the transfer is complete, you can update your DNS settings if necessary and start using your domain with Wix!

PRO TIP: If you are considering transferring your domain from Shopify to Wix, it is important to be aware of the potential risks involved.

There is no guarantee that your website will continue to work after the transfer, and you may lose all of your existing website data. In addition, your domain could be suspended or cancelled if the transfer is not completed correctly.

Before proceeding with the transfer, please make sure that you understand the risks and have backups of your website data.
