How Do I Translate on Squarespace?

Last updated on December 23, 2022 @ 10:07 am

There are two ways that you can translate your Squarespace site – through the use of Google Translate or by using a Squarespace Translation Plugin. If you want to use Google Translate, then you will need to add the Google Translate code to your header code injection. You can find more information on how to do this here. If you want to use a Squarespace Translation Plugin, then you will need to install the plugin and follow the instructions on how to use it.

The most popular Squarespace Translation Plugin is the Weglot Plugin, which you can find here. Once you have installed and activated the plugin, you will need to enter your API key in the Weglot settings page. Once you have done this, you will be able to select the languages that you want to translate your site into and start translating your content.

If you want to style text in HTML using <p>, <b> and <u> tags, then you will need to use the following code:

<b>This is bold text</b>

<u>This is underlined text</u>

<p>This is normal text </p>

PRO TIP: If you are not a native English speaker, please be aware that translating your Squarespace site into another language can be challenging. There are many potential inaccuracies that can occur, and some Squarespace features may not work as intended. We recommend working with a professional translator to ensure the best results.
