How Do I Undo a Change in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:07 am

If you’ve made a change to your Squarespace site that you want to undo, there are a few ways to go about it. Depending on the type of change, you may be able to undo it using the Undo button in the editor, or by restoring a previous version of your site from your Site History.

Undoing Changes with the Undo Button

If you’ve made a change in the Squarespace editor and want to undo it, click the Undo button at the top of the editor. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z.

This will undo the most recent change you’ve made. If you want to undo multiple changes, keep clicking the Undo button or pressing Ctrl + Z.

You can also click the Redo button to redo changes that you’ve undone.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when undoing a change in Squarespace, you could end up losing all of your changes. Make sure to save your work before undoing any changes.

Restoring a Previous Version of Your Site

If you’ve made a change to your site that you can’t undo with the Undo button, or if you want to revert your entire site to a previous version, you can do so from your Site History. To access your Site History, go to Settings > Site History.

From here, you can browse through different versions of your site and restore any of them with one click. Keep in mind that this will replace your current site with the selected version, so be sure to only restore a version that you’re sure about.
