How Do I Update Figma Files?

Last updated on December 2, 2022 @ 5:33 am

Figma is a vector graphic design tool that is gaining popularity within the design community, especially among those who are already familiar with other design software such as Sketch and Adobe XD. One of the main reasons for Figma’s growing popularity is its ease of use; Figma has a very user-friendly interface that makes it simple to create complex designs.

Another reason for its popularity is that Figma files can be easily exported to other popular formats such as PNG, JPEG, and SVG.

So, how do you update Figma files? The first thing you need to do is open the file in Figma. Once the file is open, you will see a “Update” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

When you click on this button, a new window will open up asking you how you would like to update the file. You can choose to update the entire file, or just selected layers. Once you have made your selection, simply click on the “Update” button and your file will be updated.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when updating Figma files, you could end up losing work or causing problems with your team’s workflows. Here are some things to keep in mind when updating Figma files:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Figma before updating any files.

2. If you are working on a team, discuss with your team members before updating any files. This way, everyone is on the same page and knows what changes are being made.

3. Be careful when making changes to shared files. If you are not sure about a change, ask someone else on your team for their opinion before making the change.

4. Save your work often! When updating Figma files, changes can sometimes be lost if the file is not saved correctly.

It’s important to note that when you update a Figma file, any changes that you have made to the file will be saved automatically. However, if you have not saved your changes before updating, they may be lost. So, be sure to save your work before updating any Figma files.
