Upgrading PHP on HostGator

In order to upgrade your PHP version on HostGator, please follow these steps:

1. Log into your HostGator account

2. Click on “Website Management” in the main menu

3. On the “Website Management” page, click on “Server Settings”

4. On the “Server Settings” page, under the “Server” heading, click on “PHP Version”

5. On the “PHP Version” page, you will see the current PHP version that is installed on your HostGator server.

To upgrade your PHP version, simply click on the “Upgrade” button next to the desired PHP version.

PRO TIP: If you are using HostGator to host your website, you may be wondering how to upgrade your PHP version. While HostGator does offer a few different PHP versions to choose from, they do not offer the latest version of PHP. Upgrading your PHP version on HostGator can be done, but it is not recommended.

The reason for this is that upgrading your PHP version can break compatibility with some of the scripts and applications that you are using on your website. This can lead to errors and problems with your website. If you do decide to upgrade your PHP version on HostGator, be sure to test your website thoroughly before making the change live.

6. Once the upgrade is complete, you will be prompted to restart your HostGator server.

Click on the “Restart Now” button to restart your server.

7. After the server has restarted, you will be able to visit your website and see the updated PHP version.
