How Do I Upload a Color Palette to Canva?

Last updated on April 26, 2023 @ 8:13 am

There are a few different ways that you can upload a color palette to Canva. The first way to upload a color palette to Canva is to import an existing color palette from another program (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, etc.). This can be an image that contains a variety of colors which you can extract the color palette from. To do this, click the ‘Create your own style‘ button in the ‘Styles‘ section of the ‘Design‘ tab on the left sidebar.

This will open the Brand Kit window where you can create your own color palette. To upload an image of a design or logo that you want to extract the color palette from, just click on the ‘Add new‘ button beside the Logos section, and select the ‘Upload logos‘ option.

Then select the image of the logo or design that you want to upload.

A color palette will then be generated in the Brand Kit window, containing the colors of the image uploaded. Click on the ‘Keep‘ option to save this.

Another way is to create a new color palette from scratch. To do this, click on the ‘Add new’ button in the Color Palette section.

This will open up a color picker where you can choose your colors. Once you’ve chosen your colors, click again on the ‘Add new‘ button to add more colors to your color palette.

Once you’ve added all the colors you want, you can rename the color palette created by clicking on the pen icon.

And there you have it! Your imported colors will now be available in your ‘Brand Kit‘ section of the left sidebar. From here, you can edit your colors, or create new palettes from them.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Canva, we recommend that you do not attempt to upload a color palette. Canva is a very user-friendly platform, but if you are not familiar with it, you may find the process of uploading a color palette to be confusing.

Conclusion:
Importing a color palette is a great way to get started with designing in Canva. By importing an existing color palette from an image, you can save time and get started with your design right away!
