How Do I Upload Video to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:02 am

There are two ways to upload video to your Squarespace site:

Option 1: Use an existing video platform like YouTube or Vimeo and embed the video onto your site.

To do this, simply grab the embed code from the platform you’re using and paste it into the code block on your Squarespace page. Here’s a link to instructions from Squarespace on how to do this.

PRO TIP: Uploading video to Squarespace is easy, but there are a few things you should know before you start. First, make sure your video is in the correct format. Squarespace supports MP4, MOV, and M4V files. If your video is in another format, you’ll need to convert it to one of these formats before uploading. Second, keep your video file size under 500 MB. Larger files may take longer to upload and may not play as smoothly on your site. Finally, check the settings for your video before you publish it. You can choose whether or not to allow visitors to download your video, and you can also set a password for your video if you want to keep it private.

Option 2: Upload the video file directly to Squarespace and host it on their servers.

Squarespace supports MP4, MOV, and M4V video files. To upload a video, go to the page or post where you want to add it and click the “Add Media” button.

Then click “Upload Files” and select the video file from your computer. You can also add titles, descriptions, and choose whether or not to autoplay the video.

Conclusion:

Either way you choose to upload your video, Squarespace makes it easy to add videos to your site. If you have questions about how to do either of these things, be sure to check out Squarespace’s support documentation or reach out to their customer support team.
