How do I use InVision specs?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 9:04 pm

InVision is a popular prototyping and design tool used by product teams and designers to visualize and communicate design ideas. InVision uses a specification format called InVision specs, which makes it easy to share and collaborate on design specifications.

To use InVision specs, first create a project in InVision. In the project’s settings, select the “Specifications” tab.

In the “Specifications” tab, you’ll see a list of all the specs you’ve created in InVision. To create a new spec, click the “New” button.

To edit an existing spec, click the “Edit” button next to the spec’s name. In the “Edit Spec” window, you can change the spec’s name, description, and icon.

You can also add new specs to the project by clicking the “Add” button.

To share a spec with other team members, click the “Share” button. In the “Share Spec” window, you can choose to share the spec with your team members as a PDF, InVision file, or Markdown file.

You can also add comments to the spec.

When you’re finished working on a spec, you can click the “Close” button to close the “Edit Spec” window. To save your changes, click the “Save” button.

PRO TIP: InVision specs allow you to control the spacing, sizing, and positioning of elements on a page. They can be used to create responsive designs that adapt to different screen sizes.

However, if not used correctly, InVision specs can result in pages that are difficult to read and use. Make sure to test your pages on different screen sizes before publishing them.

To view the specs that are currently active in the project, click the “Active” button. To save your changes and close the “Active” window, click the “Save” button.

The following are some tips for using InVision specs:

1. Use InVision specs to communicate design ideas with your team.

2. Use InVision specs to build a design documentation.

3. Use InVision specs to track and manage design changes.

4. Use InVision specs to share design ideas with other team members.
