How Do I Use Squarespace Code?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:55 pm

There are two ways to use Squarespace code:

Inject custom code into your site

With Squarespace, you have the ability to inject custom code into your site. This is done through the Code Injection feature in the Home Menu. To access Code Injection, click Design, then click Code Injection. From here, you can add external HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files to your site.

This is useful if you want to use a custom font or if you’re embedding a video from another site.

Use our developer platform

If you’re a developer, you can use our Developer Platform to build custom integrations and applications on top of Squarespace. With our platform, you can create content types, dynamically generate pages, and build e-commerce solutions. To learn more about our Developer Platform, visit our Developer Portal.

PRO TIP: If you are not a web developer, we recommend that you do not attempt to use Squarespace code. While we provide some documentation to help you get started, using code on Squarespace can be complex and time-consuming. If you’re not comfortable working with code, we recommend working with a developer.
