How Do I Use Sublimation Templates in Photoshop?

Sublimation is a printing technique that allows for full-color, photographic printing on materials such as fabric, metal, ceramic, glass and more. Sublimation transfer printing is achieved by first printing an image onto sublimation paper using a sublimation printer.

The printed image is then placed on the surface to be sublimated, and both are placed into a heat press. The high temperatures of the heat press cause the solid ink to turn into a gas, which permeates the fabric or other substrate and bonds with it on a molecular level.

If you want to use sublimation templates in Photoshop, there are a few things you need to know. First, you need to have a design or image that you want to print onto your substrate.

Next, you need to have a sublimation printer and some sublimation paper. Finally, you’ll need a heat press.

Once you have all of your supplies, you’re ready to get started!

First, open your design or image in Photoshop. Next, print your design onto the sublimation paper using your sublimation printer. Then, cut out your design so that it’s the same size as your substrate.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, you may want to avoid using sublimation templates. Sublimation is a printing technique that involves transferring images onto a substrate, usually via heat. If you do not know how to properly use sublimation templates in Photoshop, you may end up damaging your substrate or ruining your image.

Now it’s time to heat up your heat press. Once it’s heated, place your substrate on the bottom plate of the heat press.

Then place your printed design on top of the substrate. Make sure that everything is lined up properly before you close the top plate of the heat press.

Now just let the heat press do its job! The high temperatures will cause the solid ink to turn into a gas and bond with the substrate on a molecular level.

When the timer goes off, open up the heat press and remove your newly-printed item. That’s it – you’re done!
