How Do I Verify My Shopify Store With Google?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 2:23 am

It’s no secret that Google is the biggest and most popular search engine on the planet. And as a business owner, you want to make sure your store is as visible as possible to potential customers. One way to do this is to verify your Shopify store with Google.

There are a few different ways to verify your store with Google, but we’ll focus on the two most popular methods: using Google Search Console and adding a Meta tag to your store’s theme.

Google Search Console is a free service that allows you to submit your sitemap to Google and track your store’s performance in the search results. Adding a Meta tag to your theme is a bit more technical, but it’s still a relatively simple process.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to verify your Shopify store with Google, be aware that there is a possibility that your account could be suspended. This is because Google has a strict policy against allowing businesses to operate through multiple accounts. If they detect that you are using multiple accounts, they may suspend your account without warning. So, if you do decide to verify your Shopify store with Google, be sure to use only one account.

To verify your store using Google Search Console, simply sign up for a free account and then add your store’s URL. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be given a unique code that you’ll need to add to your Shopify theme.

To add the Meta tag to your theme, you’ll need to edit the code of your theme. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, you can always hire a Shopify expert to help you out.

Once you’ve added the Meta tag to your theme, simply save your changes and then head over to the Google Search Console website. From there, you can click on the “Verify” button and follow the instructions.

Verifying your Shopify store with Google is a great way to make sure potential customers can find your store easily online. By following the steps above, you can get started with increasing your store’s visibility today.
