How Do You Change the Size of an Image on Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:21 am

There are a few different ways to change the size of an image on Photoshop. One way is to use the ‘Image Size’ dialog box.

To access this, go to ‘Image’ in the top menu, then hover over ‘Image Size’ and click. Another way is to use the ‘Canvas Size’ dialog box. This can be found by going to ‘Image’ in the top menu, then hovering over ‘Canvas Size’ and clicking.

In the ‘Image Size’ dialog box, you can change the width, height, and resolution of your image. The width and height options are measured in pixels, while the resolution is measured in pixels per inch (ppi). To change the size of your image without changing its resolution, make sure that the ‘Constrain Proportions’ checkbox is ticked.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when changing the size of an image on Photoshop, you could end up distorting or losing part of the image. Make sure to check the dimensions of your image before and after resizing to make sure that the image is still intact and looks the way you want it to.

In the ‘Canvas Size’ dialog box, you can change the width and height of your image’s canvas. The canvas is the area surrounding your image.

You can also choose to anchor your image to a specific side or corner of the canvas. To do this, select one of the small squares in the Anchor grid.

If you want to crop your image instead of changing its size, go to ‘Image’ in the top menu, then hover over ‘Crop’. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + C on your keyboard.
