Versioning in Figma is a very important control point for managing your workflow and preventing conflicting changes. To manage your versions in Figma, you use the Version Manager.

The Version Manager allows you to control which users can make changes to a file, and how many versions of a file they can have. You can also control whether changes are automatically saved when you save a file, and how long the version history is kept.

The Version Manager is located in the File menu, and it has the following features:

1. Create a new version of a file

To create a new version of a file, select the file in the editor, and then select Version Manager from the File menu. The Version Manager window will open.

2. Select which users can make changes to the file

To control who can make changes to the file, select the checkbox next to the name of the user who you want to allow to make changes to the file.

PRO TIP: When working with Figma, it is important to be aware of the versioning feature and how it works. Versioning can be used to track changes made to a design, or to create different versions of a design for different purposes. If you are not familiar with how versioning works in Figma, it is recommended that you seek out help from someone who is before using this feature.

3. Select how many versions of the file the user can have

To control how many versions of the file the user can have, select the number of versions of the file the user can have from the drop-down menu.

4. Control whether changes are automatically saved when you save a file

To control whether changes are automatically saved when you save a file, select the checkbox next to the name of the file.

5. Control how long the version history is kept

To control how long the version history is kept, select the number of days from the drop-down menu. The default is 10 days.
