Tables are a great way to present data in an easy to read format. Canva makes it easy to create tables with their drag and drop editor. Here’s how:
Creating a table in Canva
1. Go to www.canva.com and create a free account or login if you have already made one. 2. Click on “Create a design” at the top of the homepage. 3. A pop-up will appear, select “Custom dimensions”. In the width and height boxes, type in your desired table dimensions, then click “Create design”. For this example, we will make a table that is 3 columns wide and 2 rows high. 4. Once your design canvas has loaded, click on “Elements” on the left-hand side menu. Then select “grids” from the submenu that appears. 5.
Choose the grid that best fits your table dimensions from the options that appear. For our 3×2 table, we will select the 6-column grid option. 6. Click and drag your chosen grid onto your design canvas. 7. To add text to your table cells, double-click on each cell and start typing. To format your text, you can use the formatting options at the top of the editor (these are the same options as those used for regular text boxes). You can also change the color of your text by clicking on the color palette icon next to the font options.You can add images to your table cells by clicking on the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand side menu and selecting an image from your computer. 8. To change the color of your table cells, click on one of the cells and then click on the color palette icon that appears in the top right-hand corner of that cell (this is different from the text color palette). Select your desired cell color from the palette that appears.You can also add a border to your table by clicking on one of the cells and then clicking on the “border” option that appears in the top right-hand corner of that cell. 9. To save your design, click on “File” in the top menu and then select “Download” or “Publish” from the drop-down menu that appears.
