How Do You Cut and Replace an Image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:36 pm

It’s actually quite simple!

First, open the image you want to edit in Photoshop. Then, use the “Pen” tool to draw a path around the area you want to cut out. To do this, click on the “Pen” tool in the toolbar and then click and drag around the area you want to cut out.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or do not have a strong understanding of the software, we recommend that you do not attempt to cut and replace an image. Photoshop is a complex program with many capabilities, and cutting and replacing an image is a delicate process that requires a significant amount of skill and experience. If you are not confident in your abilities, you could end up damaging the image, or worse, your computer.

Once you’ve drawn your path, click on the “Edit” menu and select “Cut.” This will cut out the area you’ve selected.

Next, open the image you want to use as a replacement. Then, use the “Paste” command to paste the new image into the document. You can also use the “Move” tool to position the new image.

Finally, save your document and that’s it! You’ve successfully cut and replaced an image in Photoshop.
