How Do You Display Strike Out Price on WooCommerce Variable Products?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 12:13 am

When you want to offer a sale price on a WooCommerce variable product, you have two options for displaying the pricing:

Option 1: You can display the regular price and the sale price, with the sale price crossed out, like this:

Regular Price: $100

Sale Price: $75

Option 2: You can display the regular price with a strike through it, and then display the sale price below it, like this:

Regular Price:

$100

Sale Price:

$75.

Option 1 is probably the most common way that people display strikeout pricing on WooCommerce variable products. However, there are some benefits to using Option 2 as well.

One benefit of using Option 2 is that it makes it clearer to visitors that the sale price is actually a different price than the regular price. With Option 1, it’s possible that visitors might think that they’re getting both the regular price and the sale price together.

Another benefit of using Option 2 is that you can style the text to make it more noticeable. For example, you could make the regular price gray and then make the sale price red, like in the example above. This can help to draw attention to the sale and encourage people to take advantage of it.

So, which option should you choose? Ultimately, it depends on what you want to achieve with your sale pricing.

If you want to make it clear that the sale price is a different price than the regular price, then Option 2 is probably a better choice. If you’re just looking for a simple way to display strikeout pricing, then Option 1 will probably suffice.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell variable products, it is important to be aware that the strike out price (the original price of the product before it was discounted) will be displayed on the product page. This could potentially confuse customers if they are not expecting to see this information.
