In this article, we’ll show you how to edit just one layer in Photoshop.

First, open your Photoshop file and select the layer that you want to edit. Then, click on the “Edit” menu at the top of the screen and select “Edit in Quick Mask Mode.”

Now, use the brush tool to paint over the area that you want to edit. The area that you paint over will turn red, indicating that it is selected. Once you’re done, press the “Q” key to exit Quick Mask Mode.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to edit just one layer in Photoshop, be aware that you may inadvertently end up editing other layers as well. Make sure to check all of the layers in your image before saving any changes.

Next, go to the “Select” menu and choose “Inverse.” This will invert your selection so that everything except the area that you painted over is selected.

Now you can make your edits! Once you’re done, go to the “Select” menu and choose “Deselect.” Your edits will now be confined to just the one layer!
