How Do You Get Shadows in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:31 am

There are a few different ways that you can create shadows in Figma. One way is to use the drop shadow tool. To do this, select the object that you want to create a shadow for and then click on the drop shadow tool in the left toolbar. This will open up a panel where you can adjust the settings for the shadow.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a design in Figma and want to add shadows, be careful! The default settings for shadows in Figma can be quite aggressive, and if you’re not careful, they can ruin your design.

To avoid this, make sure to adjust the opacity, blur, and spread of your shadows until they look natural and subtle. With a little trial and error, you’ll be able to find the perfect settings for your design.

Another way to create shadows is by using the layer styles. To do this, select the object that you want to create a shadow for and then click on the layer styles icon in the right toolbar. This will open up a panel where you can add a drop shadow layer style.
