How Do You Insert a Ruler Line in Photoshop?

There are a few ways to insert a ruler line in Photoshop. You can use thePen toolto draw a line, theLine Segment toolto draw a straight line, or theLine Toolto draw a curved line. You can also use theShape toolto draw a shape, and then use the Stroke command to add a stroke (outline) to the shape.

To insert a ruler line in Photoshop:

1. Select thePen tool,Line Segment tool,Line Tool,orShape toolin the toolbar.

2. Click on the canvas to add anchor points.

For straight lines, click and release to add one anchor point. For curved lines, click and drag to add multiple anchor points.

PRO TIP: This article provides instructions on how to insert a ruler line in Photoshop. However, it is important to note that this feature is only available in the latest version of Photoshop. If you are using an older version of Photoshop, you will not be able to insert a ruler line.

3. To complete the line or shape, do one of the following:
– For straight lines: Click on the first anchor point you created.

– For curved lines: Double-click on the last anchor point you created. – For shapes: Click on the first anchor point you created, or press Enter/Return.

4. To add a stroke (outline) to the line or shape, do one of the following:
– Select the layer in the Layers panel and choose Edit > Stroke from the menu bar.
