Making a CMYK halftone in Photoshop is quite simple. First, you need to create an image with seven different colors.

You can use any color you like, but for this tutorial we’ll use red, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

Next, select all of the colors in the image and go to Select > Color Range. This will select the entire image and allow you to create a new layer.

Next, use the halftone filter to create your CMYK halftone. To do this, go to Layer > New Halftone Layer > CMYK Halftone.

This will create a new layer with the CMYK halftone filter applied.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with the CMYK color model, halftone printing, or Photoshop, this question could result in some undesirable outcomes. Incorrectly setting up a CMYK halftone in Photoshop can cause your print job to come out blurry, have banding issues, or be completely incorrect.

Now, use the brush tool to paint the halftone grid on the new layer. You can use any size you like, but for this tutorial we’ll use a size of 8px.

Once you’ve painted the grid, you can use the Eraser tool to remove any unwanted areas. You can also use the Levels tool to adjust the brightness and darkness of the halftone grid.

Finally, you can use the Sponge tool to add a bit of noise to the image to create a more realistic look.

That’s all there is to it! You now have a CMYK halftone image that you can use in your projects.

Conclusion

Making a CMYK halftone in Photoshop is simple and can give your images a more realistic look.
