How Do You Make a Hexagon Pattern in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:10 pm

There are a few different ways that you can make a hexagon pattern in Photoshop. One way is to use the “Hexagon” custom shape tool. Another way is to use the “Polygon” tool and set the number of sides to 6.

To use the “Hexagon” custom shape tool, first select it from the list of custom shapes in the toolbar. Then click and drag on your canvas to create a hexagon shape.

You can hold down the shift key to constrain the proportions of the hexagon. To create multiple hexagons, click and drag again while holding down the alt (or option) key.

To use the “Polygon” tool, select it from the toolbar and then click and drag on your canvas. A polygon will be created with whatever number of sides you have selected in the options bar.

To change the number of sides, simply click on the “sides” option in the options bar and enter a new value. Again, you can hold down shift to constrain the proportions of your polygon.

Once you have created your hexagon (or hexagons), you can fill it with color, add a stroke, or apply any other effects that you like. You can also duplicate your hexagons and move them around to create different patterns.

If you want to create a more complex pattern, you can use Photoshop’s “Transform” commands to rotate, scale, or reflect your hexagons. To do this, select all of your hexagons (you can do this by pressing ctrl-A or cmd-A) and then choose “Edit > Transform > Rotate.” Enter a value in the angle field and click “OK.” You can also scale or reflect your hexagons by choosing those options from the transform menu.

PRO TIP: This article contains instructions on how to create a hexagon pattern in Photoshop. However, it is important to note that these instructions are for an older version of Photoshop. If you are using a newer version of Photoshop, the steps may be slightly different.

Creating hexagon patterns in Photoshop is a relatively simple process that can be accomplished in a few different ways. By using the Hexagon custom shape tool or the Polygon tool, you can easily create basichexagon shapes. These shapes can then be filled with color, duplicated, moved around, and transformed to create more complex patterns.
