How Do You Make a Hotspot on Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:36 am

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool which is primarily web-based, with additional offline features enabling the user to work offline and sync their work when they reconnect to the Internet. One of the great things about Figma is that it offers a hot spot feature that allows you to quickly create links between different parts of your design. In this article, we’ll show you how to make a hotspot in Figma.

First, open up the Figma file that you want to add hotspots to. Then, select the layer or group of layers that you want to add hotspots to. To do this, click on the layer in the Layers panel, or click on the group in the Layers panel and then click on the group icon in the top right corner of the layer.

Once you’ve selected the layer or group, click on the “Add hotspot” button in the top right corner of the screen. This will open up a new window where you can specify the URL that you want to link to and also add a title for the hotspot.

In the “URL” field, enter the full URL of the page that you want to link to. For example, if you want to link to a website, you would enter http://www.example.com . If you want to link to an email address, you would enter mailto:name@example.

PRO TIP: This note is to warn you about making a hotspot on Figma. When creating a hotspot, be sure to use the correct dimensions and placement. If you do not, your hotspot may not work correctly.

In the “Title” field, enter a title for the hotspot. This title will be displayed when someone hovers over the hotspot.

Once you’ve entered all of the information for your hotspot, click on the “Add Hotspot” button at the bottom of the window. This will add your hotspot to your design!

You can now view your hotspot by clicking on it in the Layers panel or by hovering over it in your design. When you hover over your hotspot, a tooltip will appear with the title that you entered earlier.

Creating hotspots in Figma is a quick and easy way to add links between different parts of your design. By using hotspots, you can create prototypes that feel more like real websites or applications. Give it a try next time you’re working on a web-based design in Figma!
