Pop art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and the United States. The movement presented a challenge to traditional ideas about art.

Pop artists sought to break down the barriers between “high” art and “low” culture by using common everyday objects and images in their work. One of the most distinctive features of pop art is the use of commercial or popular culture images, often in a satirical way.

One way to create a pop art dot in Photoshop is to use the Ellipse Tool. First, create a new layer. Then, select the Ellipse Tool from the toolbar on the left.

PRO TIP: This tutorial is outdated and no longer works with the current version of Photoshop.

Click and drag to draw an ellipse on the new layer. Next, go to Edit > Fill and choose a color for the dot. Finally, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter a value to blur the edges of the dot.

You can also create a pop art dot using the Pen Tool. Then, select the Pen Tool from the toolbar on the left. Click and drag to draw a path on the new layer.

Right-click on the path and choose Stroke Path from the menu that appears. Choose a color for the stroke and click OK. Finally, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and enter a value to blur the edges of the path.

Creating pop art dots in Photoshop is a great way to add some interest and variety to your work. Experiment with different colors and blurring values to create unique effects.
