How Do You Make an IGTV Cover on Canva?

Last updated on December 4, 2022 @ 5:20 pm

Instagram has recently introduced a new feature called IGTV. It’s a great way to share longer videos with your followers, and you can even make money from it! But how do you make an IGTV cover on Canva?

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

    1. Go to the Instagram app and click on the IGTV icon. This will take you to the IGTV page. If you don’t see the icon, update your app.

    2. On the IGTV page, click on the + sign in the top right-hand corner. This will take you to the upload page.

    3. On the upload page, select “Upload Video.” You can either choose a video from your camera roll or record a new one.

    4. Once you’ve selected or recorded a video, click on the “Next” button in the bottom right-hand corner.

    5. On the next page, you’ll be able to add a title and description for your video. You can also choose whether or not to allow comments and likes on your video.

    6. When you’re finished, click on the “Next” button in the bottom right-hand corner.

    7. On the next page, you can choose a thumbnail for your video. You can either choose a still frame from your video or upload a separate image. If you upload a separate image, make sure it’s at least 1080px by 1080px.

    8. When you’re finished, click on the “Publish” button in the bottom right-hand corner.

PRO TIP: The following note is a warning for those considering using Canva to create an IGTV cover. While Canva is a great tool for creating simple designs, it is not meant for more complex projects like IGTV covers. This is because Canva does not have the same features and options as more dedicated design software. As such, you may find yourself limited in what you can create. Additionally, because Canva is not specifically designed for IGTV covers, you may run into issues with formatting or sizing. For these reasons, we recommend using another design tool if you are looking to create an IGTV cover.
