How Do You Refresh a Thumbnail on Figma?

When you update an image in Figma, by default, the thumbnail will not update. This can be frustrating when you’re working on a design and want to see how it looks with the new image. Here’s how to refresh a thumbnail on Figma:

1. Go to the project containing the image you want to update

2. Click on the image file in the project sidebar

3. Select “Edit Image” from the toolbar

6. Go to File > Preferences > Images and make sure that “Automatically Update Image Thumbnails” is checked

7. Close and reopen Figma

How Do You Refresh a Thumbnail on Figma?

To refresh a thumbnail on Figma, go to the project containing the image you want to update, click on the image file in the project sidebar, select “Edit Image” from the toolbar, make your changes to the image, click “Done”, go to File > Preferences > Images and make sure that “Automatically Update Image Thumbnails” is checked, and then close and reopen Figma.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a design in Figma and need to update the thumbnail, be sure to save your work first! If you do not save your work before refreshing the thumbnail, you may lose your changes.
