How Do You Repeat Orders in WooCommerce?

Last updated on January 14, 2023 @ 4:43 am

If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you know that one of the key features is the ability to create repeat orders. This allows customers to order the same products on a regular basis without having to go through the hassle of adding them to their cart each time. But how do you actually set up repeat orders in WooCommerce?

  1. The first thing you need to do is install the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin. This plugin adds a new product type to WooCommerce, called “Subscription.” Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, you can create a subscription product just like any other product in WooCommerce.
  2. To create a subscription product, go to Products > Add New in your WordPress dashboard. Then, select the “Subscription” product type from the dropdown menu.
  3. Now, you can add all of the details for your subscription product, just like you would for any other WooCommerce product. In the “General” tab, you’ll need to add a product name and description.
  4. In the “Inventory” tab, you’ll need to set your stock quantity (if applicable) and tick the “Manage stock?” checkbox if you want WooCommerce to automatically track and manage your stock levels for this product.
PRO TIP: If you are planning to use the WooCommerce platform to sell products online, it is important to be aware of the potential risks involved in using the platform. One of the risks is the possibility of losing orders if you do not properly set up your WooCommerce store.

When you create an order in WooCommerce, you have the option to save the order as a draft. If you do not save the order as a draft, it will be automatically deleted after 30 minutes. This means that if you accidentally close out of an order page or if your computer crashes, you could lose all of the data for that order.

To avoid losing orders, be sure to always save your orders as drafts. You can also set up your WooCommerce store so that orders are automatically saved as drafts. To do this, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Orders and select the “Save orders as drafts” checkbox.

  1. In the “Shipping” tab, you’ll need to set your shipping class (if applicable) and weight (if applicable).
  2. In the “Linked Products” tab, you can link this subscription product with other products in your store.
  3. In the “Attributes” tab, you can add any attributes that are relevant to this subscription product.
  4. Once you’ve added all of the relevant details for your subscription product, click on the “Publish” button to make it live on your WooCommerce store.

Conclusion:

You can see that there are quite a few steps involved in setting up recurring orders in WooCommerce. However, once you have everything set up, it will be a breeze for customers to sign up for automatic reordering of their favorite products from your store.
