Last updated on January 29, 2023 @ 9:19 am

In Photoshop, there are a few ways to quickly and easily blend two images together. In this tutorial, we will show you how they are done.

1. Blending two images using the Layer Mask Tool

One way is to use the built-in layer masking tools. To do this, first, you need to open your first image.

NOTE: This will serve as your background image.

Then, open up your second image by going to File > Place Embedded.

Select your image file and click on the “Place” button.

Once your second image is loaded into Photoshop, you can resize it according to your preference by clicking and dragging on the handles around it.

Once done, select the “Quick Selection Tool” from the left toolbar and select the part of the second image that you want to retain and blend with the background image.

The next step is to go to the Layers tab and click on the “Add layer mask” option at the bottom menu of the window.

NOTE: With layer masking, you can selectively erase or reveal parts of a layer. This gives you a lot of control over how the two images are blended together.

And there you have it! The layer mask is an easy way to blend two images together so give it a try!

NOTE: You should now see a layer mask beside your image layer in the Layers window.

2. Blending two images using the Eraser Tool

Another way that you can try is to use the Eraser Tool to blend two images together.

To get started, simply select the Eraser tool from the toolbar. Photoshop offers three eraser tool variations for you to choose from. For this tutorial, we will use the Eraser tool from the options. Once done, simply click and drag on the parts of the image that you want to remove in order to seamlessly blend the two images together.

And that’s it! The eraser tool allows you to erase parts of an image, which can be used to create a smooth transition between two images which is perfect for projects like this!

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, blending two images in Photoshop can result in a noticeable seam between the two images. To avoid this, use a soft eraser tool to blend the edges of the two images together.

Conclusion:
All of these methods are great for quickly and easily blending two images together in Photoshop. Experiment with each method to see which works best for your project.
