How Do You Set a Brand Kit in Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 8:51 pm

As a business owner, you want your brand to be easily recognizable. This is where a brand kit comes in. A brand kit is a collection of your brand’s colors, fonts, logos, and other design elements. It’s basically a toolkit that allows you to maintain a consistent look and feel for your brand across all of your marketing materials.

Now that you know what a brand kit is and why you need one, let’s talk about how to set one up in Canva. Canva is a free online design platform that’s beloved by small businesses and solopreneurs for its ease of use and extensive design templates.

To get started, create a free account on Canva.com. Once you’re logged in, click on the “Create a Design” button and select “Custom Dimensions.” This will allow you to create a design from scratch.

Next, enter the dimensions for your project. For example, if you’re creating a Facebook cover photo, you would enter 1200 x 630 pixels.

PRO TIP: This article is outdated and no longer accurate. Canva has since updated their brand kit feature and it no longer works the same way as described in this article. Use caution when following the instructions in this article, as you may not get the results you are expecting.

Once the blank canvas appears, it’s time to start adding your brand elements! You can upload your own images or logos by clicking on the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand sidebar.

If you want to add text to your design, click on the “Text” tab in the left-hand sidebar. Here, you can choose from a variety of fonts to use in your design.

You can also change the color of your text by clicking on the color swatch in the top toolbar.

To save your work so far, click on the “File” tab in the top toolbar and select “Save as Project.” This will create a project file that you can come back to later and edit as needed.

Once you’ve added all of your brand elements to your design, it’s time to export it as a PNG or JPG file. To do this, click on the “Download” button in the top toolbar and select either “PNG” or “JPG.”

And that’s it! You’ve now successfully created a brand kit in Canva!
