How Do You Use Mosaic Filters in Photoshop?

Mosaic filters are a unique way to add interesting effects to your images in Photoshop. There are a number of different mosaic filters available, each with its own set of options to customize the effect. To use a mosaic filter, simply select the layer you want to apply the effect to and then choose Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic.

In the Mosaic dialog box, you can specify the cell size and number of levels.

The cell size determines the size of the blocks that make up the mosaic effect, and the number of levels specifies how many shades of gray there are in each block. You can also check the “Randomize” option to create a more random, less uniform effect.

PRO TIP: Mosaic filters can be very tricky to use in Photoshop. If you’re not careful, you can easily end up with a cluttered, busy image. Be sure to use a light hand when applying these filters, and don’t be afraid to experiment until you find the perfect look for your image.

Once you’ve applied the mosaic filter, you can further customize the effect by going to Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal All. This will create a white layer mask that hides the effect. You can then use a black brush to paint over areas of the image that you want to remain visible. This gives you a lot of control over how much or how little of the effect is visible in the final image.

Conclusion:

Mosaic filters offer a unique way to add interesting effects to your images in Photoshop. By playing with the cell size and number of levels, you can create a variety of different looks. And by using layer masks, you can control exactly how much of the effect is visible in the final image.
