How Do You Use the Eyedropper Tool in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 9:32 pm

The eyedropper tool is one of the most basic and essential tools in Photoshop. It allows you to sample colors from your image and use them elsewhere in your design. In this article, we’ll show you how to use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop.

To use the eyedropper tool, simply click on the tool in the toolbar and then click on the color you want to sample. The color will be added to your foreground color. You can then use this color in your design by using the paint bucket tool or the brush tool.

You can also use the eyedropper tool to sample colors from other images. To do this, open the other image in Photoshop and then click on the eyedropper tool.

PRO TIP: The eyedropper tool in Photoshop can be very useful for picking colors from an image, however it can also be very easy to accidentally click on the wrong area and pick up the wrong color. If you are not careful, you may end up with a color that you did not intend to use.

Hover over the area of the image you want to sample and then click.

You can also use the eyedropper tool to match colors between two images. To do this, open both images in Photoshop and then click on the eyedropper tool. Hover over the area of one image you want to sample and then click.

The color will be added to your foreground color. Next, click on the paint bucket tool and then click on the area of the second image you want to fill with that color. The two colors will now match!
