How Does Shopify Local Delivery Work?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 11:30 pm

Assuming you have a Shopify account and are using the default Shopify shipping settings, local delivery is available to you if:

-You are shipping from one location in the United States to another location in the United States. -You are using USPS, UPS, or Canada Post as your shipping carrier. -You have entered your address correctly in Shopify.

PRO TIP: Shopify local delivery is a great way to get your products to your customers quickly and efficiently. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind when using this service. First, make sure that you have a good understanding of the local delivery area. There are often restrictions on where Shopify can deliver, so it’s important to know where your customers are located. Second, be aware of the weight and size restrictions for each local delivery. These vary depending on the carrier, so it’s important to check with them before placing your order. Lastly, make sure to track your local delivery orders so you can ensure they are delivered on time and as expected.

If you have not, please edit your address and make sure to include your country. -You have products that weigh less than 150 lbs (68 kg). -You have products that are smaller than 3 cubic feet (0.08 m3).

If these conditions are met, then you should see local delivery as an option when setting up your shipping zones in Shopify. If you don’t see it, please contact Shopify support.

How Does Shopify Local Delivery Work?

Shopify local delivery works by assigning a specific delivery area to each of your shipping zones. When a customer enters their shipping address at checkout, Shopify will compare it to the delivery areas you’ve set up and automatically select the correct shipping zone for that customer. The shipping rates for that zone will then be applied to their order.
