How Long Does It Take for a Domain to Become Active Squarespace?

When you register a domain with Squarespace, it can take up to 24-48 hours for the domain to become active. This is because we have to update the DNS records with your new domain. Once the DNS records are updated, your domain should become active within a few hours. However, in some cases, it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to become active.

If you’re unsure whether your domain is active, you can always check the WHOIS lookup for your domain.

If your domain is registered with us, you’ll see the following message:
