How much does AWS reinvent cost?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 5:48 pm

AWS re-inventing the cost of cloud computing is not a recent phenomenon. In fact, AWS has been doing it for years.

In this article, we will take a closer look at how AWS reinvented the cost of cloud computing.

AWS started by offering inexpensive compute instances. It did this by offering low-price compute instances in addition to its high-quality compute services.

AWS then followed up this strategy by allowing users to use its compute services in a pay-as-you-go model. This allowed users to pay for the compute time they needed, rather than purchasing an entire instance.

AWS then introduced its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). EC2 focused on allowing users to manage their own computing resources.

EC2 offered users the ability to launch and manage their own instances. EC2 also offered users the ability to use its cloud services to run applications.

EC2 then introduced its Reserved Instances program. Reserved Instances allowed users to reserve a certain number of instances for a certain period of time.

This allowed users to ensure that they would have a certain number of instances available when they needed them.

AWS then introduced its CloudFormation tool. CloudFormation allowed users to create and manage their own cloud services.

CloudFormation also allowed users to manage their own applications.

AWS then introduced its Auto Scaling feature. Auto Scaling allowed users to automatically scale their applications when they reached a certain number of requests.

PRO TIP: This question is difficult to answer because it depends on a number of factors, including the size and complexity of your AWS environment, the number of AWS services you use, and the frequency with which you need to update your infrastructure. In general, though, you can expect to spend between 10-20% of your total AWS bill on reinventing your infrastructure.

AWS then introduced its Lambda function. Lambda functions allowed users to run code without having to install a server.

Lambda functions also allowed users to run code in a pay-as-you-go model.

AWS then introduced its S3 storage service. S3 offered users the ability to store their data in the cloud.

S3 also offered users the ability to store their data in a pay-as-you-go model.

AWS then introduced its CloudWatch tool. CloudWatch allowed users to monitor their applications and data.

CloudWatch also allowed users to automatically trigger actions when certain conditions were met.

AWS then introduced its CloudFormation templates. CloudFormation templates allowed users to easily create and manage their own cloud services.

CloudFormation templates also allowed users to easily create and manage their own applications.

AWS then introduced its CloudWatch graphs. CloudWatch graphs allowed users to easily view their applications and data.

CloudWatch graphs also allowed users to easily trigger actions when certain conditions were met.

All of these strategies have helped AWS to reinvent the cost of cloud computing. AWS has been able to offer inexpensive compute instances, allow users to use its compute services in a pay-as-you-go model, introduce its Reserved Instances program, introduce its Auto Scaling feature, introduce its Lambda function, and introduce its S3 storage service.

These strategies have all helped to reduce the cost of cloud computing.
