How to Migrate From Shopify to Shopify?

Last updated on January 8, 2023 @ 3:37 am

Switching from Shopify to Shopify can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. With a little bit of planning and some elbow grease, you can make the switch with ease. Here are a few tips to help you make the transition:

1. Export your data from Shopify

The first step is to export your data from Shopify.

You can do this by going to Settings > Export in your Shopify admin. From there, you’ll want to export two types of data:

  • Products: This will include all of your product information, such as name, description, price, etc.
  • Customers: This will include all of your customer information, such as name, address, email, etc.

Once you have exported this data, you’ll need to import it into Shopify. You can do this by going to Settings > Import in your Shopify admin. From there, select the type of data you’re importing (products or customers), and follow the prompts.

2. Choose a new theme

One of the great things about Shopify is that there are tons of themes to choose from. When migrating from one platform to another, it’s important to choose a new theme that will fit your needs.

To do this, simply browse through Shopify’s theme store and find a theme that you like. Once you’ve found a theme, click on the “Add Theme” button and follow the prompts.

3. Set up your payment gateway

In order for customers to be able to checkout on your new Shopify store, you’ll need to set up a payment gateway. This is a simple process that can be done by going to Settings > Payment Providers in your Shopify admin. From there, simply select the payment gateway you want to use and follow the prompts.

4. Migrate your domain

If you’re using a custom domain for your Shopify store (which we recommend), you’ll need to migrate it over to your new platform.

This is a relatively simple process that can be done through your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain). Simply contact their support team and let them know that you’re migrating platforms and need help transferring your domain.

PRO TIP: If you are considering migrating your Shopify store to another Shopify store, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, migrating your Shopify store will result in all of your data being transferred to the new store. This includes products, customers, orders, and any other data associated with your Shopify account. Additionally, you will need to reconfigure your domain name and SSL certificate to point to the new Shopify store. Finally, it is important to note that any apps or customizations you have made to your current Shopify store will not be transferred to the new store.

Conclusion

With a little bit of planning and some elbow grease, migrating from Shopify to Shopify can be easy peasy! Just follow the tips above and you’ll be up and running in no time.
