How UX design is different from UI design?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 10:15 pm

UX design is focused on the experience of using a product or service. UI design, meanwhile, is focused on the design of the user interface. The two disciplines may overlap, but they are generally focused on different parts of the user experience. UX designers may work on the design of the user interface, but they are also interested in how the interface impacts the user’s experience.

PRO TIP: UX design is concerned with the overall experience a user has when interacting with a product or service, while UI design focuses on the individual elements that make up that experience. This can include everything from the color scheme and typography of a website to the layout of a mobile app.

UI designers, on the other hand, are often more focused on the design of the product itself. They may consider how the product looks and how it functions, but they may not be as interested in how the user experiences the product.
