How Was Figma Founded?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:37 pm

Figma is a web-based design tool that enables designers to create, collaborate on, and iterate vector graphics. The company was founded in 2012 by Dylan Field and Evan Stites-Clayton. Prior to Figma, Dylan and Evan co-founded the online design platform UI kits, which was acquired by Facebook in 2010.

Dylan and Evan saw an opportunity to create a new category of software that would empower designers to create, collaborate on, and iterate vector graphics directly in the browser. They set out to build a better way for people to design together.
